Hardy Herd Fans!
Wednesday 10-27-2010 7:45am ET
Major praise for all of you folks who waited out an hour-long rain and lightning delay Wednesday night (10/13/10) to support Marshall's football team in its contest with UCF.

Unfortunately, the game didn't go the Herd's way..UCF 35 Marshall 14

As for the loyal, I praise:

1) The Marching Thunder--You guys could have gone back to your dorm rooms and dried off after missing out on a halftime performance, but you dragged yourselves back to the stadium and played your hearts out for your team and school for the entire second half.

2) The Fans--I know a lot of you had early wake-ups for work, school and family matters, but at least a couple of thousand of you sat in the rain and tried to root the Green and White on to victory.

3) Game Management--With heavy rain and lightning, no panic set in as Marshall University officials calmly moved the fans to places of safety when play was suspended.  MU and Conference USA officials also did well in how they handled the resumption of play by eliminating a long halftime.

I know we're struggling, but I have high hopes for Doc Holliday and eventual success for MU football...its not going to happen this year, but continued hard development and recruiting work will pay off...Believe it!
